The World Cup In 2010 May Prove Helpful For The Double Glazing Industry

With the FIFA World Cup coming up in the summer of 2010, it might give our industry and extra boost. Why? Well, if/when England don't do as well as expected, we can count on the drunk football hooligans to pile out of the pubs and take out their frustrations on shop front and doors!

But of course, as an England fan, I'd like them to go all the way and spare my local damage to their windows!

One quick thought on that topic.

I am not a negative person and will always try to see the positive. You need to be in this game.

Every year we have Christmas and we know how to deal with it (except RCG lol !) we know we lose two or three weeks business and we just get on with it.

BUT... I have been in this business for 18 years and in that time have found the biggest things in the Anti-Business calendar are World Cups and General Elections.

So I think in 2010, we really need to get our heads down up until Easter and try and have a blinder, as we know what's coming back to back in May and June. A General Election followed by the World Cup!.

Not just June, the first half of July too!

Agreed, spring has to be a good time for us, beer will be a big ticket item during the summer, not A-rated windows unfortunately.

I think the General Election will be a big one. People may hold out to see which party promises the best in terms of people's money.
