The Funny Side Of Spam Comments!

Running a blog like this you end up getting a fair few comments. You also end up receiving quite a few spam comments. Some of them are quite funny, the terrible English and spelling make them a laugh to read. Some of them are weird and some just suck up to you in extremely poor English!

Check this one out, he/she likey very muchy:

Youre so cool! I dont suppose Ive learn something like this before. So nice to search out any individual with some authentic ideas on this subject. realy thank you for beginning this up. this web site is something thats needed on the web, someone with a bit of originality. useful job for bringing something new to the web!

Apparently I LOVE Chanel:

Someone didn't want to have a chat:

Hello. And Bye.

I also get asked very important questions:

Who do you like Mike Tyson or Fedor Emelianenko?

While spam comments just clog up my inbox, sometimes they are funny just to read through. Their utter gibberish and ramblings do make them amusing - but only for a while, then I delete them!

It's A Small World

I met a very interesting customer today, in fact he turned out to be a very distant relative! He shares the same name as I do, and anyone who knows what that name is will know that's it quite a rare one, so when you come across a person with the same name you know they are going to be related to you.

They originally came in for a back doors, but conversation inevitably turned to the family tree. Peter (the customer) told me he managed to trace my grandad's family line up to 1826 where it starts to become difficult. And as the more we talked, the more strains of the same name, all linked back to the original name at least 500 years ago, turned up. In fact we have a very, very distant and enormous family spread all over America, and a few in Australia.

I was under the impression that there weren't many of us about, but after an in-depth conversation/family history session, it's plainly not true. In fact if I was to plot out our family tree, it would probably end up more than covering the side of a house! It's an incredibly small world!

And needless to say they bought the back door too!

Daylight Robbery

I don't know if this is a story any of your already know, but just in case you don't...

The term 'daylight robbery' originated many moons ago. Hundreds of years ago there was a tax put on houses depending on the size of the windows on the property and how many window the building had. So, to get round the tax, people made their windows much smaller, or got rid of some altogether, making the houses a lot darker inside, hence the term 'daylight robbery'.

If you look at very old cottages one of their features are the small windows, probably because of the window tax.

Let's hope that the new government doesn't decide to re-introduce this sort of tax again!

Two For £20!

Tell me if I'm completely out of the loop, but a customer has just been into the showroom with two sealed units he wanted re-making as the supplier he went to made them wrong. The unit sizes were 871mm x 347mm and had 18mm white internal Georgian bar, silver unit spacers, Cotswold obscure glass and toughened safety glass as it was for conservatory top lights. He told me he had paid £10 each for them! We were quite a bit above that when I quited him. Perhaps we are just two expensive, or was £10 each, bearing in mind the specification, too little an amount? Thoughts please!

Being British

"Being British is about driving a German car to an Irish pub for a Belgian beer. Then on the way home grabbing an Indian curry or a Turkish kebab, to sit on a Swedish sofa and watch USA shows on a Japanese TV. And most of all being suspicious of anything foreign. Oh...and...only in Britain... can you get a pizza to your home faster than an ambulance. Only in Britain do banks leave both doors open and chain pens to the counter. Supermarkets make sick people walk to the back of the shop for prescriptions whilst healthy people get their fags at the front.

We might be British but by f**k we're funny!"

This was a joke I got sent yesterday. I thought it was so spot on I had to share it on here with you all!
